RETENTION POND
Special Assessment 2026
The Beeson Park Board has initiated a special assessment to fund critical structural repairs to our community retention pond. These repairs are essential to ensure our infrastructure meets city and state safety standards, prevents costly erosion, and protects our common areas from flooding. This assessment also establishes a dedicated reserve fund to cover future pond maintenance without the need for additional assessments.
HOA Obligation to Maintain the Pond
While the City of Winston-Salem manages the public storm drains under our streets, our neighborhood retention pond is privately owned by the Association. Per the City’s Stormwater Ordinance and our Maintenance Agreement, the HOA is legally mandated to keep this system in working order. If the pond fails or is not maintained to City standards, the Association faces legal penalties and potential government-mandated repair costs that would far exceed the HOA budget / funds.
